Seminar on “The Current State of the Entertainment and Animation Industry, Recent Developments, and Future Trends” Held

On February 19, 2026, an online seminar was delivered to our department students by Mr. Tolga Barış BADUR, President of the Professional Animation Managers Association. The event was organized with the aim of enabling our students to engage directly with a sector representative, enhancing their professional awareness, and contributing to their career planning. The seminar was successfully completed with the participation of 55 students and all academic staff members of our department.
Within the scope of the seminar, the current state of the animation industry and its future-oriented trends were examined in detail. Particular emphasis was placed on the evolving role and increasing strategic importance of animation departments within the tourism sector. The organizational structure of animation departments in accommodation establishments, job descriptions, team management processes, and their contribution to service quality were explained through concrete examples. In addition, post-graduation employment opportunities, career pathways, sectoral expectations, and the importance of foreign language proficiency were comprehensively discussed. Practical recommendations were also shared in response to students’ questions.
This event made a significant contribution to strengthening university–industry collaboration and supporting the professional development of our students. The opportunity for students to benefit from the knowledge and experience of an accomplished industry professional enhanced both their motivation and professional awareness.
