Business Field Trips to a Pilates Studio and an Art Center Conducted with Department Students

On 20 November 2025, an industry field trip was conducted with department students under the supervision of Res. Asst. Emrah İnaltekin. Within the scope of the program, two different businesses operating in the fields of recreation and arts were visited, and comprehensive information was obtained regarding business processes, working practices, and sectoral requirements.

The first stop of the visit in Balıkesir was a pilates studio. Students were informed about the official procedures required to open a pilates studio, spatial design, area compatibility, and equipment layout. Emphasis was placed on the importance of correct movement techniques, as well as the potential sports-related risks and injuries that may arise from incorrect practices. The sustainability of instructors’ professional development, the necessity of participating in training programs organized outside the city, and the impact of a qualified instructor staff on business performance were explained in detail. In addition, key topics such as management processes, competitive conditions, customer satisfaction, and the organizational skills required of managers were discussed.

In the second stage of the program, an art center was visited. It was stated that the center, which has been operating for approximately four years, offers training in various branches of music, including wind and percussion instruments. In addition, painting and different art courses are provided and are open to the public. It was shared that the center does not offer an official certification program, but organizes concerts twice a year, in February and June. It was also noted that the training programs are structured according to a level-based system and that a total of 15 instructors are employed at the center.
