The Department of Recreation Management started admitting students in the 2018–2019 academic year. The primary objective of this department is to educate tourism managers and planners who focus particularly on the “aesthetic” and “leisure” dimensions of tourism. A secondary objective, which has emerged due to its close relation to the primary one, is to ensure that graduates are also equipped to strategically plan and implement the conditions and activities that enable individuals to enjoy their daily lives within society.
The employment target of the department is for its graduates to work primarily in tourism enterprises, as well as in event agencies, provincial directorates of tourism, urban and regional planning institutions, national park management organizations, municipalities, visitor destinations, and organizations related to regional tourism development.
In our country, there are also departments named “Recreation” established under faculties and schools related to the field of “sports.” It is important to note that the education provided in those departments, which generally focus on the concept of sports, differs significantly in terms of objectives, approach, and content from the education offered in our department. Prospective students considering choosing our department should pay close attention to this distinction.
